چکیده

Under the energy crisis and with greenhouse gases causing an ecological imbalance, biofuel has attracted worldwide attention due to its sustainability low net-carbon emission. For years, traditional biodiesel industry been demanding a high-performance solid base catalyst. Its poor reusability is bottleneck for promising calcium-based solid-base In this work, we successfully adopted new silicate-strength strategy improve stability while preserving activity of The newly synthesized catalyst, NCSO, had two main catalytic phases, Na2CaSiO4 CaO, showed 98.2% FAMEs yield in 60 min at 80 °C methanol/oil molar ratio 9:1 5 wt.% catalyst loading. After 12 consecutive reuses, 57.3% could still be achieved. effect reaction temperature, methanol ratio, loading, time on was also investigated. With combined characterization XRD, XPS, SEM, etc., confirmed that CaO synergistic catalyzing transesterification reaction: addition phase NCSO significantly phase, turn, helps stabilize phase. This provides route synthesize stable highly active catalysts.

Transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite as a Heterogeneous Catalyst

Reduction of fossil fuels sources, increasing of pollution gases emission, and global warming effects increase the demand of renewable fuels. One of the main candidates of alternative fuels is biodiesel. Biodiesel limits greenhouse gas effects due to the closed CO2 cycle. Biodiesel has more biodegradability, lower combustion emissions such as CO, SOx, HC, PM and lower toxicity than petro diesel...

Biodiesel Production from Palm Oil using Heterogeneous Base Catalyst

In this study, the transesterification of palm oil with methanol for biodiesel production was studied by using CaO–ZnO as a heterogeneous base catalyst prepared by incipient-wetness impregnation (IWI) and co-precipitation (CP) methods. The reaction parameters considered were molar ratio of methanol to oil, amount of catalyst, reaction temperature, and reaction time. The optimum conditions—15:1 ...

Calcium Oxide Derived from Waste Shells of Mussel, Cockle, and Scallop as the Heterogeneous Catalyst for Biodiesel Production

The waste shell was utilized as a bioresource of calcium oxide (CaO) in catalyzing a transesterification to produce biodiesel (methyl ester). The economic and environmen-friendly catalysts were prepared by a calcination method at 700-1,000°C for 4 h. The heterogeneous catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the B...

High performance catalytic distillation using CNTs-based holistic catalyst for production of high quality biodiesel

For production of biodiesel from bio oils by heterogeneous catalysis, high performance catalysts of transesterification and the further utilization of glycerol have been the two points of research. The process seemed easy, however, has never been well established. Here we report a novel design of catalytic distillation using hierachically integrated CNTs-based holistic catalyst to figure out th...
